The final CCTV image can only be as good as the camera and lens combination that produces it. In order to supply high resolution cameras with confidence Secure has undertaken extensive tests and trials of many makes of camera to establish preferred manufacturers and models. Out in-the-field some cameras have also proved their quality and reliability over the recent years.

Cameras from Pelco, Bosch and Ganz have proved to give outstanding performance in terms of technical quality, reliability and value:

Secure use Pelco Esprit fully functional PTZ cameras, Spectra domes and Exsite EX-rated explosion-proof cameras for special applications. The Bosch LTC series of day/night cameras have been tested and proved to give high quality images for most fixed camera situations. Ganz produce a range of cameras including the C-Allview high performance fully integrated PTZ camera – ideal for situations where a larger ‘traditional’ PTZ camera would be out of place. Their range of fixed cameras offers good value for the budget-conscious client.

Leading ranges of megapixel cameras have been extensively tested and employed at a major client’s premises to great effect. Currently, megapixel cameras fall into two broad categories and applications: Up to 5 Megapixels for enhanced resolution images which are still easy to manage and transmit at reasonable frame rates, and 10 or more Megapixels where the extended resolution allows close-up monitoring at a distance or wide area single camera monitoring with digital PTZ. Cameras tested and used by Secure include Avigilon, Arecont and Mobotix.

Originally developed for the fire-fighting services, the Thermal Imaging Camera or TIC has now been adopted by leading CCTV manufacturers to add thermal imaging to the client’s fully integrated security system. Even in totally dark or obscured conditions TICs are capable of detecting intruders at great distances and of detecting small potentially dangerous hot-spots within large areas. Both Pelco and Ganz make TICs based on their tried and trusted CCTV PTZ camera platforms.
