While some simpler CCTV installations can all be managed via the DVR and its keyboard, larger systems with many cameras, DVRs and monitors require a central system to manage, distribute and view the many CCTV images.

Building Block Video Ltd, known as BBV, specialise in control and interface solutions for all requirements and Secure Engineering use BBV’s products extensively; The TX and FBM series of switching matrices offer monitoring and control solutions for all sizes of installations. The Pick-a-Point control system has been used many times by Secure for the easy integration and control of analogue or IP CCTV systems. Using a map-based GUI with camera icons, large numbers of cameras and DVRs can be viewed and controlled from one central, easy-to-operate touch-screen.

BBV interface products are also used by Secure when integrating new PTZ cameras with old systems or vice-versa. In this instance BBV’s range of RX Telemetry Converters provide the solution.

For systems with many Dedicated Micros DVRs, Secure have used the DM CX-02 RS485 controlled Video Switch. This provides a simple, efficient way of monitoring many cameras via multiple DVRs at up to four monitoring locations.
